Yea we soon learnt that, after we realise that any available car offer taxi services. Nope we didn’t get away with hitchhiking as foreigners, haha because we are always asked for money after any of our hitch hiking attempts.

It’s like this in Mongolia, too. If you don’t want to pay, you absolutely have to tell people before you get in their car, and many people won’t understand. Maybe you can get away with it as a foreigner or because they don’t want to seem rude, but it’s not normal.

Also, you have Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan mixed up on your map.
